The more we know and understand God's word, the more we know and understand our Lord. As we read in the gospels, everything Jesus did during His life here on earth had a depth of meaning, mission, and purpose. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12:10 (ESV). This scripture is a challenging one for me. To say I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities would be a stretch. When I read this verse, I hear God's invitation to live a life free from fear, confident in who God is and who He made me to be.
